Goodyear has developed an all-season version of its ElectricDrive tire line for electric vehicles and added a pair of sizes to the original ElectricDrive GT ultra-high-performance line.

AKRON—Goodyear has developed an all-season version of its ElectricDrive tire line for electric vehicles and added a pair of sizes to the original ElectricDrive GT ultra-high-performance line.

The V speed-rated all-season version, which comes with a 60,000-mile limited tread-life warranty, launches in sizes 215/50R17 95V XL and 215/55R17 94V SL, which fit commuter touring sedans and CUVs such as the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Bolt and Volt and the Kia Niro EV, Goodyear said.

"Goodyear remains focused on offering innovative products and technologies for the EV segment and providing drivers with the quality, performance and enhanced treadwear they expect from our brands," said Michiel Kramer, director, consumer product marketing.

Goodyear's ElectricDrive tires are engineered with a load index to account for the heavier load capacity of EVs and feature SoundComfort Technology—a layer of sound-absorbing foam attached to the tire's inner liner—designed to help reduce the level of interior vehicle noise.

The new EV tire also features a tread compound designed for all-season traction and long-lasting tread life, while an asymmetric tread pattern provides confident handling for wet or dry road conditions.

Pricing starts at $201 per tire, according to Goodyear's web site.

Additionally, Goodyear has added a pair of sizes, 235/45R18 98W XL and 235/40R19 96W XL, to the ElectricDrive GT line, which launched in December 2021 with a single size, 255/45R19 104W XL.

"The addition of the new ElectricDrive GT sizes allow us to meet the unique needs of more electric vehicle drivers with premium, performance Goodyear products,"Kramer said.

The W speed-rated ElectricDrive GT comes with a 40,000-mile limited tread-life warranty. Pricing starts at $273 per tire.
