Shanghai (Gasgoo)- NIO is about to showcase the ET5 at the forthcoming Chengdu Motor Show 2022, with the interior design of mass-produced model to be unveiled on spot, according to a local media outlet.
NIO launched the ET5 sedan at the NIO Day 2021 in December 2021. With a price range of 328,000 yuan to 386,000 yuan ($48,620-$57,220), the model is expected for delivery in September this year.
As NIO's second sedan model, the ET5 will take on Tesla's Model 3 in the Chinese market. Measuring 4,790 long, 1,960mm wide, and 1,499mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,888mm, the ET5 is positioned as a mid-sized electric sedan.
The ET5's interior carries on NIO's design philosophy of "the second living room". The Clean+ sustainable fabric forms a relaxing cocooning ambiance, and improves the acoustic performance of the cabin. The instrument panel is visually neat and delicate thanks to the invisible air vents. Besides, entering and exiting will be at ease by virtue of the soft-close doors with frameless windows and flush door handles, and the UWB digital key and smart key.
The ET5 carries the PanoCinema digital cockpit powered by AR and VR technologies. Inside the cabin, a 10.2-inch HDR instrument cluster, the all-new 256-color curtain ambient lighting, Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 surround sound system, and other amenities will cooperate to offer users an exclusive space.
The ET5 can zip from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. Thanks to NIO's self-developed 4-piston fixed calipers with aluminum casting, the model has a 100-0km/h braking distance of 33.9meters.
With a drag coefficient as low as 0.24, the all-wheel-drive ET5 features a CLTC range of over 550 km with the 75 kWh Standard Range Battery, over 700 km with the 100 kWh Long Range Battery, and over 1,000 km with the 150 kWh Ultralong Range Battery.
