The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors is inviting residents to the annual free slash drop-off at various county stations beginning April 1st. The drop-off could help residents in creating a fire-resistant space around their homes or other structures. By cutting vegetation five to 30 feet from all structures, the chance of a potential wildfire spreading to a home is significantly reduced. Brush, branches, grass, leaves and yard trimmings will all be accepted at drop-off. The free slash drop-off will begin April 1st and end on June 1st. County stations are located in Black Canyon City, Mayer, Paulden, Seligman, and Skull Valley and will be open during normal business hours for drop-off. For more information, contact the Yavapai County Public Works Department at (928)-771-3183.
